Welcome new Oranges! Congrats, you've made on the team with the cutest instructor and the ugliest uniforms.

This is basically a meet 'n greet/orange CR meme thing so that newbies can ask questions and get acquainted with the game.

Information on Orange's units can be found here, which can give you an overview of the squads and what they do. Orange does everything from scouting to intel-gathering to general camp IT/tech maintenance services. If you need clarification or aren't sure which squad to guide your character towards, don't hesitate!

Beyond this community we also have an Orange plurk clique (I'm ara_macao, add me!), an Orange playlist courtesy of unfavoured, aaaand we really like sleepovers/group cuddle parties. Also knives.

I'll start: I'm Ara, I play Noh-Varr from Marvel comics, in CDC he takes care of a lot of tech, mechanical prosthetics and AIs/machinery, he enjoys robots and guns, and he and Isha carved the frostbrood knives together.

A discussion question to start: how do you feel about team bonding exercises? Would you like some? Any ideas?

ANYWAY hello, I'm TJ, teag on plurk, and I play Ryan Farrow, this nerd OC here. He has an extra sense that lets him see ghosts/spirits/etc as well as sensing people who are anything but baseline human (generally if they have some kind of special ability they count.) Ryan's the guy to come to if you need to know about the supernatural and superstition, Earth music, or general domestics and crafts (he will always knit things for you and repair your clothes if you need it.)

He's also a researcher and a member of the tiny Naga unit, so he tends to be a good info source if you need to learn things IC! :|b Ryan might also be the tallest Orange, please tell me he has more tall company from the new folks.

Re: bonding exercises, yes please, let's do that sooner this time... I don't have thoughts for it off the top of my head here but I'll see what ideas come up.

I'm Bootsie (also called Mom), I play Erin from the game Thief. In CDC she mostly lies to small children and manipulates people into feeding her from their supplies so she doesn't have to use hers (I'm not kidding), but she will also fix your crossbow and make you crossbow bolts (if you need them) and she's a great trapmaker. Hi kids.

I'm Vee blizzardseason, I play an OC named Baqer-Ruhan Jablonski. He's kind of a problem child within Orange!

Prior to the CDC, he grew up super poor on a space station and cultivated a fatalistic outlook on things because he never expected to escape said space station. His mom ditched out on him when he was young because his dad was an ass, and his dad being an ass decided to drink heavily about that whole thing until he finally drank himself to death when Baqer was 18! This left him with a younger brother to take care of, and thinking he was doing the right/easy thing, he let a rich uncle take his brother off his hands and Baqer hasn't seen him since.

Everyone in Baqer's life leeeeaves him, so he has avoided forging bonds or being responsible to others for the past idk 17 years. He has shit for self-esteem, drinks a lot, deals with tension and stress with humor which mostly only pisses people off.

Usually he's an unflappably pleasant guy, but after having his 'kill them with bullshit smiles' act shot down he's turned super surly and stressed out. He has the impression that Orange team thinks he's a useless asshole, and thus kind of goes out of his way to act like a useless asshole, thus totally vindicating himself. He's a self-destructive fuck like that.

I SUSPECT he'll be nicer to the newbies since they don't have any preformed opinions on him, but uuuuuuh he's kind of in a love to hate relationship with his team????????

He's a scientist and not a fighter in any way, he's best at logistics and... science. Small details and risk analysis are his bread and butter.

He also died in a black hole recently (THANKS RYAN) and uhm... I take it back that he might be nice to newbies.

Which suits him a lot better where he's from, as he's admitted to himself that he's sick of the whole "killing since before my balls dropped" thing and it's done nothing but make him psychotic and give him a drinking problem + no friends..............................

Anyway, chinese electric batman can charge/discharge electricity, absorb it, channel it through conduits, and in general change the charge of particles on a quantum level?? He's a stargazing lardass who loves food, de-stresses by cooking, and generally hides his grumpiness and psychosis behind a layer of being an umassuming quiet nerd. Hi, for those of you who haven't seen my OOC post, I'm Inky (inkblotmeringue) and I play Joker from Mass Effect, who'll be a bright-eyed, bushy-tailed new recruit to this citrus stand.

Actually, that's a lie. He's an asshole and he'll snark at everyone.

In addition to being a brilliant bag of sunshine with rainbows and unicorns coming out of his ass, he's also the acest of ace pilots. And he can also do other shit like communications and data processing, but that's not as sexy.

Also I feel that team-building exercises would be a beautiful thing if only so Joker can get through it with liquor and unwanted running commentary.

Hi orange pops! I'm Schist and I'm new to CDC bringing in Sheva Alomar from Resident Evil! If you're canon blind, I suggest reading the brief (relative to the whole series) setting from her application where I basically cover the main events that affect her and sass about the ridiculousness of the series for 3k+ words.

She's your beautiful hero type with a horrible childhood that involves orphaning by murder, participating in an antigovernment guerrilla group as a child to teenager, and a perpetual hatred for bioterrorism and very powerful corporations.

Let's just say she's not happy about CDC or what they do.

She has no magic powers or special abilities other than what her training and hard work has provided her. But damn if she doesn't enjoy kicking ass and taking names. She's also pretty social and friendly!
